Important walls ?
Exterior walls with proposed dimension based on budget and lot zoning rules.
Large room sizes: living dining kitchen and bedrooms.
Door & Window locations ?
Doors:
Door locations. Optional except for exterior doors.
Layout doors based on traffic flow. Optional.
Door swings. Optional.
Door widths. Optional.
Windows:
Rule of thumb 10% of floor area for living and dining and 5% for bedrooms and other finished rooms.
Required bedroom exits.
Stairs, Floors & Ceiling ?
Stair locations.
Changes in floor elevations (ie sunken living room or garage floor).
Ceiling variations from standard 8′. indicate vaulted ceilings.
Kitchen, baths & furniture ?
Kitchens:
Counter & island locations. Optional
Appliances:
Fridge, stove, sink and dishwasher. Optional.
Note:
You can get kitchen planning when you order cabinets but setting these items is recommended for windows over sinks, mechanical & electrical rough-in etc.
Bathrooms:
Fixtures: WC=watercloset, S=sink, & T= tub
Laundry:
washer dryer (W D).
Whole house:
Any other furniture you would like to plan for.
Elevations
